1. About Us

Synapse Laboratory ("Synapse", "We", "Our", "Us") is a diagnostic and genetic testing laboratory operating under GeneJunction Healthcare Services Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated in India.

The Company has its Registered Office in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and its Corporate and Operational Office in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Synapse Laboratory provides specialized molecular, genetic, oncology, reproductive, and other advanced diagnostic testing services for clinicians, hospitals, institutions, and individual patients in India and internationally.

2. Scope of Services

Synapse Laboratory provides laboratory-based diagnostic and genetic testing services.

We do not provide medical treatment, clinical diagnosis, or therapeutic recommendations.

All reports generated are intended to assist qualified healthcare professionals in clinical decision-making.

3. Test Requisition & Consent

• All tests must be supported by a duly completed Test Requisition Form (TRF).

• For genetic testing, informed consent from the patient (or legal guardian) is mandatory.

• The clinician/collection center confirms that proper consent has been obtained prior to sample submission.

• Synapse Laboratory reserves the right to reject incomplete or improperly documented samples.

4. Sample Collection & Transportation

Samples may be collected directly by Synapse Laboratory or through authorized collection centers/hospitals.

While reasonable care is taken, Synapse shall not be liable for improper collection, pre-analytical errors, sample degradation due to external transport delays, or inadequate sample quality.

If a sample fails quality control (QC), a repeat sample may be requested.

5. Turnaround Time (TAT)

The Turnaround Time mentioned is indicative. TAT may vary depending on:

• Test complexity

• Sample quality

• Technical issues

• Reagent availability

• Regulatory review (if applicable)

Synapse Laboratory shall not be liable for delays beyond its reasonable control.

6. Reports & Interpretation

• Laboratory reports are based solely on the sample provided.

• Reports do not constitute medical advice or diagnosis.

• Interpretation must be done by a qualified clinician/genetic counselor.

• Synapse Laboratory shall not be responsible for clinical decisions made based on the report.

Re-interpretation may be possible upon request and additional charges may apply.

7. Fees & Payment Terms

• All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (GST or other statutory levies).

• Payment must be completed as per invoice terms.

• For international clients, payment must comply with Indian foreign exchange regulations.

8. International Samples

For international samples, the sender is responsible for compliance with:

• Local export regulations

• Bio-shipment regulations

• Customs clearance requirements

Synapse Laboratory is not responsible for customs delays or regulatory seizures. Any additional regulatory costs shall be borne by the sender.

9. Data Privacy & Confidentiality

Synapse Laboratory maintains strict confidentiality of patient data in compliance with applicable Indian laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

• Genetic data is treated as sensitive personal data.

• Reports will be shared only with the referring clinician or authorized patient/guardian.

• Data may be stored securely for regulatory and quality purposes.

• Anonymized data may be used for internal quality improvement or research purposes unless expressly declined.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synapse Laboratory's liability shall be limited to the amount of fees paid for the specific test. Synapse shall not be liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages

• Clinical misinterpretation

• Treatment decisions based on the report

• Delays beyond reasonable control

11. Accreditation Status

Synapse Laboratory is currently in the process of applying for NABL accreditation.

Until accreditation is granted, services are provided in accordance with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory guidelines.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of India. Courts located in Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Any disputes shall first be resolved amicably. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration shall be Karnataka, India.

13. Independent Entity

Synapse Laboratory operates as an independent diagnostic service provider. Submission of samples does not create any partnership, employment, or agency relationship.

14. Acceptance of Terms

Submission of a sample and/or payment of fees constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
